I met Baron by chance, but was instantly enthralled and impressed with his energy, his spirit, and his passion. Mr. Stewart has a natural gift that is hard to miss. His positive energy exudes through every word he speaks and every movement he takes. After meeting him one time, I knew my students would benefit from his teachings and his work, so I booked him to come to our career night, targeting students and families in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
Though North Lawndale is notorious for being extremely crime-ridden, and devastated by poverty, but Baron was not afraid, nor was he intimidated. Baron came into LCA ready to meet any and all students and families where they were, and autonomously hosted an amazing meditation session for students aged 8 to grown adults. I am not exaggerating when I say you could feel the energy as soon as you entered the room! Again, these students tend to be overzealous and difficult to captivate---but with Baron, they were calm, and mindful in their actions. After this session, I immediately booked Baron again for a motivational speech during a FSA testing pep rally. Once again, he did not disappoint. In Chicago Public Schools, students have many obstacles to overcome, aside from the typical academic pressures.
Research shows that programs centered around meditation and mindfulness, like Baron’s Meditation to Motivation series, assist students in controlling their emotions which leads to more positive interactions and less interruptive behavioral incidents. With the help of Mr. Stewart, students in Lawndale know that positive energy is the key to their own success. Because of Baron, these students now have more tools to overcome their seemingly troubled lives and I personally could not be more appreciative to him. Not only is Baron skillful in his craft, he is also prompt, adaptable, professional, and kind. I could not recommend a better person than Baron Stewart, for his practices are extremely necessary and he is the best person to lead this movement.
